Project Piranha Complete!

Finally! The piranha plant is finished! It's not that great... it has a few balance problems, but it turned out ok for a first attempt. I'll have to try again later, maybe make John a whole piranha garden :)

Next on the project list is a cute little girl's dress. Hopefully I'll have it finished in less time than project piranha.

Project Piranha

Well I finished the baby cosy. I think I should have used 2 strands of yarn instead of 3 as it turned out a bit thick, but otherwise I'm pretty pleased with it.

Next project is John's piranha plant. I've finished a lip... not a lightning start considering I started it on Monday night and it is now friday, but I'll get there eventually. It's been a bit of a busy week.
Making Christmas cards, wrapping presents, getting things ready for the Playgroup Christmas BBQ, not to mention the usual stuff. I think I must be up to 8 loads of washing this week. I must have the dirtiest kids (and husband) on the planet! Anyway, after this weekend things should calm down a bit.. I hope.

I must remember to take a photo of Jo's present tomorrow before I wrap it up. I managed to send off a present to the US recently and, despite having had it finished for months, didn't take a photo of it!

Circular Looming

I started yet another project last night, this time on my circular loom. I really love using them because it's so much faster than regular knitting. I'm not well endowed with patience, so for me faster is better. So far I've done a few pram/car seat blankets and a baby beanie. Last week I made a baby sock for a friend who is having her third baby next week. I thought it turned out pretty well, and she seemed to like it, so I thought I'd give another one a bash. I made it half way through last night while I was watching Back To The Future and hopefully I'll get it finished tonight!

And a few more...

Recent Efforts

Here is my collection of amigurumi-nals so far.

Upcoming projects

Oooh!! I'm on a roll!
I thought I should post the next few projects I have in mind to do, as much to remind myself as for anyone else.
I just bought a pattern from Michelle Rheaume Designs on Etsy so I can make John an amigurumi Piranha Plant. He wanted Mario, but I couldn't find a pattern I liked and I'm sure not up to designing my own.

I just finished a Christmas present for my friend, Jo, but I can't say what it is just in case she peeks :)

I also want to finish the four square blanket I started a few weeks ago, and make a few more "baby socks". I gave one to a friend from my Mother's Group today as a present for the baby she'll be having next week. Hopefully she'll let me know what she thinks of it.

This pattern for an Ewok looks awesome, although a little tricky. It's also on my to-do list.

That should keep me busy for a while!

I think I just figured out the posting photos bit.. without having to ask John.. so stay tuned for lots of pics!

Happy First Post to Meeeee!

So. My first post. I guess I should start with something earth shatteringly interesting. But I probably won't. I'm actually a little distracted by Kung Fu Panda, which my boys (yes... all 3 of them) are currently watching.
I'm going to figure out how to post pictures, just to show my projects so far. I might have to enlist John's help on that.
What I really hope to do though, is to post about patterns I love (without infringing on anyone's copyright, of course), methods I've found to be helpful, links that are cool and books I love. If anyone else finds them helpful, then that's cool.
I guess that's about it for now. I'll see what amazing pearls of wisdom I can come up with for post number 2!
